PORR Hamburg branch is a role model for occupational health and safety

The PORR Hamburg branch received the "Occupational Safety Recognition for Exemplary Companies" as a special award from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The award confirms that the company has an exemplary employee protection organisation and is presented in an official act by the Office for Occupational Safety. This recognition brings PORR another step closer to its long-term goal of "Vision Zero"

On 12 December 2022, the Hamburg Occupational Health and Safety Office presented the certificate to regional managers Björn Motzkus and Harald Steltner and the representative of PORR Occupational Health and Safety North, Bernhard Schulhauser. In addition to the exemplary employee protection organisation, the office also honours the high level of commitment of the PORR Hamburg branch and authorises it to use the logo of the ArbeitsschutzPartnerschaft Hamburg. The logo is an expression of the recognition of all those involved in the ArbeitsschutzPartnerschaft, such as the HH Chamber of Commerce, the HH Chamber of Crafts, TÜV Nord and the DGUV Landesverband Nordwest.

The award of the occupational health and safety recognition took place within the framework of an application procedure and a parallel process of reviewing the occupational health and safety organisation (system control) by the Office for Occupational Health and Safety in a period from January to November 2022. The award is valid for 6 years.

In the area of health and safety, PORR thinks a decisive step further: "Safety First" is merely the foundation. Regular checks, training and a reporting system for near misses and dangerous situations are intended to reduce the accident frequency at PORR to less than ten accidents per million hours worked. And this with the long-term goal: zero accidents.

The Hamburg branch is setting a good example and is not only a role model for Hamburg but for the whole of PORR Germany. Congratulations on this great award.
