PORR is a “Role Model for Diversity 2022”

Many employers are committed to the important goal of diversity and equal opportunities. But not every company truly incorporates, promotes and applies this commitment in its corporate culture. Against this background, the FAZ Institute and the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research conducted the study “Role Model in Diversity 2022” (Vorbild in Vielfalt und Diversity 2022) to evaluate which companies can be considered role models in this area. Around 20,000 companies were assessed in the fields of equality, fairness and gender shift. The results showed that PORR Germany is a role model for diversity in 2022.

PORR uses and promotes diversity

With around 20,000 employees from over 80 nations, diversity is a key factor in PORR’s success. Equal opportunities and professional development are given top priority – regardless of gender, age, origin, sexual orientation or disability. As a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP) of the United Nations, PORR actively supports the empowerment of women in the company. Our We@PORR initiative serves to integrate the topic of diversity into our corporate culture. With communication campaigns, role models, lectures, networking meetings, women’s training courses and mentoring programmes, we support the exchange of experiences and raising of awareness of topics relevant to women within the company. Our holistic “Green and Lean” strategy, which builds on the three pillars of environment, social affairs and governance, serves as an overarching model for diversity and equal opportunities.

Study examines online sources with artificial intelligence

The data collection for the study “Role Model for Diversity 2022” was carried out in two steps: First, a source set was compiled using “social listening”. This comprised texts on defined search terms in the areas of gender shift, equality and fairness from several 100 million online sources. The source set was then divided into text fragments using artificial intelligence methods and analysed based on brand, topic and tonality. In a parallel second step, a structured online questionnaire was sent to the 20,000 largest German companies. PORR was rated with the maximum 100 points, making it one of the front runners in the area of “diversity”.
