At the Zepernicker Chaussee railway bridge, boulder clay was found below the foundation base. A soil expertise recommended a soil exchange. Due to the existing groundwater up to the top of the ground, the soil exchange recommended in the soil expertise would therefore have been problematic because of the compaction of the replaced soil material. Stump-Franki was therefore commissioned to build the structure on partly inclined tubular steel piles with a length of up to 20 m.

Displacement piles were driven in by heavy pile driving to reach the final depth. The steel pipes were then filled with concrete. Since the piles had to be installed below the auxiliary bridges, they were welded to the corresponding shot lengths at a limited height of less than 4 metres during continuous railway operation.
