Comfort for travellers and Freiburg residents
In Freiburg, PORR is responsible for the turnkey-ready construction of three structures in the context of the Freiraum – Living project. They are erected on three lots measuring 11,660m² in total and are part of the 390,000m² Alter Güterbahnhof area. Here, a new living and working quarter is being created. The area is located a mere 2km away from Freiburg's centre and its main station.
In particular, PORR is building two five- and six-storey residential buildings as well as the five-storey Super 8 Hotel, a 2-star economy-category hotel with a total of 205 rooms. Following the property line, the five-storey hotel's longitudinal shape runs along the building zone of Isfahanallee and in the north connects to the newly erected Hampton by Hilton hotel. An underground car park offering some 98 parking spaces to the guests of the two hotels stretches out below most parts of the property. The building which measures a little over 17m in height and approx. 4,500m² of gross floor space features a façade equipped with a thermal insulation system which elegantly blends in with the cityscape and the neighbouring Hampton by Hilton hotel.
The two residential buildings share an underground car park offering some 135 parking spaces. The individual buildings' arrangement creates a green courtyard used as a common area. Additionally, shop premises are installed on the ground floor. The ground floor flats are equipped with balconies or terraces, respectively, the ones on the staggered storeys with roof terraces. In the spirit of sustainability, the residential buildings are erected in accordance with the energy standards of the Freiburg efficiency house 55. The hotel buildings will meet the requirements of the Freiburg efficiency house 70.
