In total, the contract includes the construction of a filtration building with four basins, a machine building, two pumping stations, several shaft structures as well as the necessary drainage, sewage and cable civil engineering works. The civil engineering is supported by PORR Stahl- und Systembau, which is producing the supporting structure for the enclosure of the intermediate pumping stations. The next major milestones are the handover of the machine building in April 2023 and the handover of the filter building in July 2023.
Schedule and cost reliability as a top customer requirement
Schedule and cost reliability are at the top of the list of requirements for the client BSO Bau & Service Oberursel, because the expansion of the Purification plant is being financed with subsidies from the state. "Thanks to our efficient work preparation and the close and trusting coordination with the project managers at the city of Oberursel, the work is well on schedule," says site manager Niklas Busch, adding with a smile: "The only surprises are the visits of our construction site fox and some rabbits from the neighbourhood."
iTWO software solution in use
The iTWO software solution is used in the project to ensure that the customer's need for schedule and cost security is always kept in view. It generates a continuous data flow - from planning to invoicing. The software solution supports the team in the holistic project documentation and ensures a smooth project flow.
Young minds help shape the progress of the project
Lina Schönemann, site manager on the project, spent her traineeship on the construction site in Oberursel and now knows the project like the back of her hand: "I accompanied the project as a trainee from the very beginning. I learned a lot in various positions, from supplementary management to controlling. But I also always had the opportunity to help shape the project and contribute ideas. Today I am a site manager and know the project with all its challenges inside out."
Attention to concrete grade and quality
When constructing structures that come into contact with sewage, concrete quality and grade are important issues in order to minimise the risk of corrosion. In order to guarantee the client safety in these matters, the visible concrete surfaces in the extension of the sewage treatment plant are being produced in exposed concrete class 2.
