“As the general contractor of the New Oncological Hospital, we will leverage the extensive and long-standing experience gained during our 30 years of operation on the Polish market“, said Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of the PORR Group. The construction of the hospital is to be completed within 51 months. The first patients will be admitted to the new premises in 2028. The investment is co-financed by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship local government, the state budget and LSOPHC own funds.

“Over time, we have completed more than 600 projects, including large and complex buildings, such as the new headquarter of the Kraków-Prokocim University Hospital. As always, while taking on a new challenge, we will bring in our know-how, vast expertise, BIM solutions and most importantly – the best team”, summarised Piotr Kledzik, President of the Management Board of PORR S.A. PORR will apply the “Design & Build” methodology.

The new hospital will cover an usable area of more than 100,000m2, including four floors above ground and one underground floor, 26 stationary wards and 30 outpatient units. The hospital clinic will feature 73 surgeries, which will significantly increase the scope of outpatient treatments.

Wide range of medical services

The new hospital will offer a total of 671 beds in twin rooms. The operating block will have 14 rooms, allowing for performing up to 10,000 procedures a year. An ample car park with 1,026 parking spaces completes the project.

A functional and utility plan has been prepared that contains the medical, architectural and functional concept of the facility. To best match the project to its future role, the representatives of particular hospital units participated in the creation of the architectural concept. The new oncological hospital will offer a wide range of medical services, including oncology, haematology and lung diseases treatment, which until recently were working as separate units.
