Oldenburg Architects' and Engineers' Association inspects Abraham Quartier construction site

In November, the Abraham Quarter project in Oldenburg's city centre received a special visit: the Oldenburg Association of Architects and Engineers (AIV) toured the construction site. More than 30 participants took the opportunity to learn more about the project in Haarenstraße and its special features and to stimulate the exchange of experiences within the construction industry.

According to the plans of the Hamburg architectural office HS-Architekten, PORR as general contractor is realising a building project of impressive dimensions on the 2,700 m2 plot of ANIMA Grundbesitz in Oldenburg's pedestrian zone: a new residential and commercial building as a mixed-use property with retail and gastronomy areas on the ground floor and 121 micro-apartments spread from the ground floor to the top floor. The building is being constructed according to the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard.

Under the guidance of the architects Holger Schmidt and Claudius Lange, the building task set by "ANIMA Grundbesitz from Hamburg" was explained and the urban development situation with the aspects to be taken into account was illuminated. In addition to economic efficiency, sustainability is a top priority for this project. For a particularly resource-saving construction method, the rubble from the demolition was fragmented on site and largely reused for the construction.

After this introduction, the tour of the construction site began, divided into two groups. Above the roofs of Oldenburg, the visitors were offered a view that many had certainly never been able to enjoy in this form before.
