On 1 June 2023, the almost completed new construction of the Abraham Quartier in Oldenburg's city centre was celebrated with a belated topping-out ceremony. For this, VIVUM GmbH and ANIMA Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH came together with PORR, the Haarenstraßen community and the anchor tenant Intersport, who had already moved in. 121 micro-apartments, spread from the first floor to the top floor, and four shops on the ground floor have been created on the approximately 2,400 m2 site in Oldenburg's pedestrian zone. PORR is realising the construction project as the fully comprehensive general contractor, while the subsidiary Stump-Franki Spezialtiefbau carried out the special civil engineering work.
Although the roof is already in place and the interior work is well advanced, the belated topping-out ceremony could not be missed. Adorned with a topping-out wreath, which was delivered by the neighbours, the Haarenstraßen community, and congratulated with the traditional topping-out speech, the new building was duly celebrated. "Unfortunately, the topping-out ceremony literally fell through at the time the shell was completed, but every new building needs a topping-out ceremony. And everything worked out great for the postponed celebration today," says foreman Udo Christiansen, explaining the belated celebration. The ceremony marks the start of renting out the 121 new micro-apartments. The joy in Oldenburg's Haarenstraße over the completion of the new building is great. Approximately 170 residents will move into a beautiful new home in a prime location from August and September.
