Dismantling with precision and safety: tower crane optimises dismantling process at Ruhr University Bochum

A tower crane is now being used for dismantling the GC building complex at Ruhr University Bochum.

The tower crane is a Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 Litronic.

Thanks to their precise control, tower cranes enable the dismantling of components at specific points, thus avoiding damage to neighbouring buildings. Removing the demolition material is also effortless. This efficiency not only contributes to safety, but also optimises the demolition process as a whole.

The tower crane is a Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 Litronic. The crane has an impressive hook height of 72.9 metres and a jib length of 61.40 metres. At its tip, it can lift an impressive 10 tonnes.

It was assembled using a 500 tonne mobile crane. The tower crane is expected to be in operation in Bochum for 8 months.
