The specialised civil engineering work for the Carré Nassestrasse construction project in Bonn has been successfully completed. The excavation has been completed and the tie-backs and numerous internal supports have been installed. The concrete base for a lower-lying technical area in the centre of the construction site has also been poured.
Strong team performance despite numerous challenges
The construction site team had to overcome numerous challenges during the course of the project. Long waiting times for transport permits, logistical challenges due to the inner-city location, new suspected explosive ordnance sites and new findings about the subsoil extended the planned runtime. Thanks to precise planning, coordinated measures and close cooperation between all project participants, the complex construction pit was finally handed over to the client on 17 November 2023.
Extensive quality control for greater acceptance
The client attached particular importance to reducing noise, dust and vibrations in this project in order to minimise the impact on local residents. The work was therefore carried out using state-of-the-art technology to minimise vibration, noise and dust. Modern equipment was used, pile driving was avoided and the ground was moistened in dry conditions to prevent dust formation. Monitoring of noise, vibrations and subsidence accompanied the work and ensured that the agreed limit values were adhered to.
