The former working-class district of Harburg is becoming increasingly attractive as a place to live and work in Hamburg. Several hundred technology and science-oriented companies have settled in the vicinity of the Technical University, so that furnished micro-apartments are in high demand, especially from students and young professionals.
The structural work for the new building is in its final stages. The building construction is growing to a total of ten storeys. The team is being supported by colleagues from PORR Polska for the formwork and concrete work. The joint work is being mastered in exemplary shoulder to shoulder fashion. Building section 3 has already been handed over to the client, who has started with the interior construction and the technical building services work. The topping-out ceremony and the complete handover to the client is planned for the beginning of November.
The challenge of the construction site lies primarily in the confined space conditions and the inner-city location directly on a busy one-way street that is frequently used by buses and emergency vehicles. With the support of PORR Equipment Services, the experienced construction site team solved the problems that arose without any problems thanks to well-structured construction site logistics. In this project, adherence to deadlines as a customer requirement was paramount. With an open and cooperative partnership between the client and PORR, this customer requirement is fulfilled.
