Waste management.Waste must not be a burden.
Waste management is an important part of economic life and is becoming increasingly important. Whether in industry or in private households: Waste is generated everywhere and must be recycled as a priority or sent for final treatment as residual materials. Sustainable management means conserving resources by recycling raw materials and thus supporting a functioning circular economy. This is a top priority for us, especially in a resource-intensive industry such as construction.
PORR's environmental engineering department specialises in the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. We offer a wide range of services from mineral processing to disposal and final landfilling. To ensure a smooth process, we build and own our own modern facilities. Our environmental engineers have many years of experience in waste management in the construction industry and find an individual solution for every task.
Assessment of contaminated sites.Always know what's underneath.
At PORR Umwelttechnik, we know that a professional and complete assessment of contaminated sites is a basic prerequisite for avoiding surprises during construction.
We offer our clients the entire spectrum from the assessment of contaminated sites to planning and project management, as well as environmental chemistry, drilling, well construction and geothermal energy.
When it comes to exploration, we deal with the planning and implementation of property assessments with regard to subsoil contamination of all kinds, evaluation with regard to current standards and laws as well as cost estimates for safety and remediation measures based on previous investigations. We also offer environmental chemistry, exploratory drilling, well construction as well as the planning and construction of geothermal plants as an alternative energy source for heating or cooling buildings.

The securing and rehabilitation of contaminated sites are key focal points of PORR Umwelttechnik's work. Complex contamination at contaminated sites requires intensive preparation with regard to risk assessments, variant studies, remediation planning or the development of economic and ecological measures for the treatment of contaminated assets. A combination of several safety and remediation procedures is often necessary.
In addition to pre-treatment, clearance and disposal, our range of services also includes enclosure with cut-off walls, immobilisation, waste treatment, groundwater purification, soil vapour extraction as well as in-situ and ex-situ microbiological treatment.
In many cases, pollutants, artificial mineral fibres and asbestos have to be removed from buildings before demolition work can begin. Low-bound asbestos products in particular, such as sprayed asbestos, place high demands on the protection of personnel and the environment during removal from buildings. Our specialists, trained in accordance with TRGS 519 and TRGS 521, have many years of experience in this field.

PORR Umwelttechnik has many years of experience in carrying out industrial dismantling and demolition work. We offer our customers a wide range of services: from ecological material separation and disposal to complete gutting as well as dismantling. We particularly excel in technically demanding projects that require innovative dismantling concepts.
We also specialise in urban mining, the professional dismantling of power plant sites and large industrial areas. The aim here is to identify potential objects as secondary raw materials at an early stage, to quantify the secondary raw materials they contain and to prepare profitability analyses based on innovative technical recovery options.
