Westfalen AG, Werk Lanken

A new filling plant for technical gases has been built for the Westfalen Group in the Lanken industrial park on the B207, around 40 kilometres east of Hamburg. The contract awarded to the West Region building construction division included the turnkey construction and complete site development. The trusting cooperation between the client and PORR is already well-established: in the past, the road construction and building construction divisions worked hand in hand to build the road and new building for Westfalen's relocation within Münster.

On the 19,000 m² site in the Lanken industrial area, the building construction team from Münster built the new filling plant for technical gases. The Westfalen Group is thus focusing on optimising customer supply in the north. The proximity to the A24 east-west motorway speaks for the convenient location of this site.

The contract comprised the turnkey construction of the bottling plant, including a two-storey administrative building and other building sections for order picking and storage. In addition, the branch took on the complete construction of the outdoor facilities, including sewer construction work. The large outdoor facilities were mostly made of asphalt. Some areas were designed with paved, concrete or gravel surfaces. The site is enclosed by a fence consisting of 665 metres of double bar fence and two automatic gates. Thanks to the adherence to the contractually agreed milestones, the on-site plant and electrical infrastructure work was able to start on time. As a result, the bottling plant was fully operational on schedule in autumn 2023.
