Modern administration building with adjoining café.

The Deutzer Feld has become one of the largest construction sites on the right bank of the Rhine in the city of Cologne. The new streets on the site are named after Cologne's twin cities, including Barcelona and Cork. The Hochbau Gütersloh branch received the order for the turnkey construction of an office building on Barcelona Allee with an area of around 3,600 m2 and 61 underground parking spaces.

Fast start of construction.

Since the customer provided the complete implementation planning and the excavation pit was created on site as a Berlin shoring with two anchor positions, construction of the underground car park could begin immediately. The new office building consists of two basement floors, a ground floor and four upper floors. The top floor is designed as a staggered floor. The entire load-bearing structure was constructed using in-situ concrete, and the basement floors were sealed using the white tub system. In order to protect the concrete of the floor slab from the ingress of pollutants,

especially water and any de-icing salts that may be dissolved in it, the underground car park levels were given an OS 8 coating.

Lots of light in the offices.

The facade consists of precast reinforced concrete elements with a thickness of only 9 cm and room-high windows. The staggered floor was clad with a thermal insulation composite system, the entrance area consists of a post and beam construction. The ground floor and the other upper floors are used as offices with variable room layouts. For this purpose, the plasterboard walls were placed on a continuous cavity floor with anhydrite floor screed. The top connection of the plasterboard walls was designed as a sliding ceiling connection. The temperature in the offices is controlled via a heating and cooling ceiling system: capillary tube mats were installed under the raw concrete ceiling and plastered with gypsum plaster or clad with an acoustic plasterboard ceiling.
