More office space for the Ahrensburg Employment Agency/Job Centre

Space was at a premium in Ahrensburg – not just in the buildings shared by the Employment Agency and the Job Centre: conditions were crowded throughout the entire site on Erika Keck Strasse, south of the city centre. So the architecture firm Architekturbüro van Döllen drew up plans for an extension with a triangular floor plan on the rear part of the site, directly adjoining the central building and echoing the distinctive structural design of the two existing multi-storey buildings. The extension houses a large meeting room, sanitary facilities and five new offices distributed across two floors. The extension is raised on stilts with additional parking spaces for employees installed beneath it at ground floor level. AA Ahrensburg Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, Oldenburg, which is also part of the van Döllen firm, commissioned PORR Building Construction Region North to carry out the turnkey construction.

A smoothly coordinated team achieves record results

The partners had worked together before on the construction of a new service building for the Employment Agency and Job Centre in Bad Segeberg. Their third joint project, the new building for the Employment Agency in Schleswig, is also nearing completion. PORR project manager Holger Bollwerk describes the benefits of this partnership: “This cooperative spirit creates an environment where everyone pulls together and works hard to achieve the common goal of handing over the project on time and with as few defects as possible. As the construction work was carried out during ongoing operations, close coordination with the Employment Agency was also important. The overall atmosphere on the construction site was one of understanding and mutual consideration.”
