New luxury hotel in the heart of Berlin

In the immediate proximity of Berlin’s Chancellery and Reichstag, south of Berlin’s Main Station in the Lehrter City Quarter, PORR built the new 4-star superior hotel Steigenberger am Kanzleramt. The luxuriously equipped hotel will be used by both business travellers and congress participants as well as recreational tourists. Divided among eight storeys, it features 339 hotel rooms including 26 suites, various restaurant areas with exclusive private dining and open cooking stations as well as a spacious spa and wellness area with a view of the government district and the Spree River. Located on the ground floor are a spacious lobby including a bar and adjacent kitchen, a 400-m² ball room as well as commercial premises for restaurants and shops. The first floor features twelve conference rooms and another event room. It also houses a restaurant with a floor space of more than 700m² and a private dining area. A spacious courtyard rounds off the overall architectural concept. In accordance with Baukollegium Berlin’s specifications, the street-side façades were executed with large window spaces stretching from the ground floor up to the technology floor as well as natural stone pilaster strips.

The building was erected at the most modern and highest standards and in accordance with the specifications for sustainable building as defined by the DGNB Gold Certificate and was also thus awarded. In the course of this project, PORR was responsible for the turn-key-ready construction of this building which included the entire execution planning.
