Individual living by the park
The building was erected on the former site of the MAN Roland factory, where large printing presses were manufactured and shipped all over the world from 1873 to 2004. With the start of Offenbach's urban redevelopment, this "Senefelder Areal" was also rezoned in favour of housing, local amenities and green space.
PORR Hochbau West GmbH started the turnkey construction of the mixed-use building with a total of 94 rental flats as a KfW energy-efficient house 55 and three commercial units on the ground floor, an underground car park and a day-care centre for the city of Offenbach on parts of the ground floor and first floor, which will be extended in parallel by the city of Offenbach itself.
The landscaped inner courtyard will be used primarily by the daycare centre and will later visually connect to the existing green space of the City of Offenbach. The construction site, located in the middle of the southern old town, also has an extremely confined construction area, which required perfect delivery coordination. This meant that most of the material was delivered "just in time".
