Implementation began on 15 March 2021 with the demolition of an old property on the approximately 2,700m2 site in an Oldenburg pedestrian zone. True to the principle “If it says PORR on the label, then it’s 100% PORR”, there is a second PORR company involved in the project: the Oldenburg branch of Stump-Franki Spezialtiefbau GmbH.
Putting economic efficiency and sustainability first
The new residential and commercial building will be a mixed-use property with retail and restaurant spaces on the ground floor and 121 micro-apartments distributed across the other floors. In addition to the efficient use of floor space, the building project also has a strong focus on sustainability: the property is being built to the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard. The demolition waste is fragmented on site and most of it will be reused for the construction.
Inner city location: individual, coordinated logistics concept
The building project’s location in the busy city centre represents a logistical challenge. Waste has to be removed and construction materials delivered via narrow roads, and deliveries are restricted to predefined time slots. In addition, the pedestrian zone has a number of restaurants and cafés, making access even more difficult. PORR is tackling these challenges in close coordination with the City of Oldenburg and has devised a well thought-out logistical concept that reduces waste removal traffic to a minimum.
PORR wins over customers with tailor-made solutions
PORR identified the customers’ requirements from the very beginning of the project, subjected them to intensive analysis, and developed tailor-made solutions. The company was thus able to demonstrate its competence and reliability as a partner for the safe and economic realisation of the project.
