The five-storey building has been planned by architects BKSP. It will have around 9,500m² of floor space and underground parking for 109 cars, and is being built to an extremely high technical standard. Main entrances 1 and 2 will have a suspended façade manufactured to high standards from prefabricated reinforced concrete elements. Over 900 windows will adorn the façade, flooding the interior with light.
When the foundation stone was laid on 16 April 2021, a time capsule containing a daily newspaper and some coins was inserted into the symbolic brickwork.
Our Building Construction department at the Gütersloh branch has been leading the project since December 2020. Completion and handover to the user is scheduled for 2022. Around 3,750m² of office space in the building has been earmarked for Cochlear Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, the international market leader for hearing implants.
The new building, set in an attractive business environment, will have a contemporary design paired with excellent infrastructure links – the location on Mailänder Strasse is just by the Expo station. There are currently over 150 companies already represented on the Expo site – the combined workforces number some 2,000 people. Over the next two years, the site will be developed into an even more appealing location: Lower Saxony’s biggest residential project “Kronsrode” will include 3,500 residential units and local conveniences, day care for children and even a primary school.
