Occupational health and safety in practice - Stump-Franki production facility for anchors and micropiles celebrates six years of zero accidents

In Colbitz, not far from Magdeburg, PORR subsidiary Stump-Franki Spezialtiefbau GmbH has its production facility for grouted anchors and micropiles, along with a central compound where the Stump-Franki machinery is maintained. The company is now celebrating six years of zero accidents on the site. Site manager Konrad Witt and his team are proud of their achievement.

Björn Kass gives the team at the Colbitz production facility a certificate celebrating six years with zero accidents.

Several times a day, Konrad Witt makes his way through the production facility, checking that all occupational health and safety guidelines are being followed. He encourages the production team to use the right tools and to wear protective gloves and goggles. The team is also very attentive to order and cleanliness.

Teamwork is extremely important at the facility: employee suggestions for improving work processes are discussed and implemented as a team.

Occupational health and safety is very important to the whole of the PORR Group. That’s why Björn Kass, deputy head of Occupational Health and Safety for PORR in Germany, thought it was important to personally thank the team and give them his congratulations.

Anchor and micropile production at the Colbitz site

Stump-Franki Spezialtiefbau has a general type approval for strand anchors in soil and rock and for composite micropiles and soil nailing techniques. The grouted anchors and load-bearing elements in the micropile are assembled centrally in the Colbitz production facility. Having its own production facility enables Stump-Franki to respond flexibly to construction site requirements and quickly implement custom solutions.

Quality assurance

As well as continuous in-house monitoring, the production facility is monitored by the NRW materials testing institute in accordance with the specifications in the general type approval, assuring high quality production. In addition, all processes are subject to the certified quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
