At the end of 2020, PORR Building Construction South Region, Munich branch, was awarded the contract for the turnkey realisation of two construction stages of the new Am Papierbach development by project developer ehret+klein. PORR subsidiary pde Integrale Planung GmbH is responsible for the execution planning for architecture and technical building equipment. Structural work on site A3, Am Papierbogen, was finished some time ago, and structural work on Spöttinger Höfe (site A2), part of the second construction stage, is now also complete.

Apartments for every stage of life

Around 57,000m2 of former industrial area in Landsberg am Lech is being transformed into a new city district designed to house 1,500 people. Since the first sod was turned in 2021, the site of the former paper factory has seen the construction of 658 apartments, a cultural centre, a hotel, two childcare centres and numerous spaces for retail trade, medical practices, offices and restaurants.

The Am Papierbogen construction stage comprises the construction of 92 apartments on up to five floors, including 51 state-subsidised residences (income-based support). The Spöttinger Höfe building complex houses modern, urban living facilities, all designed to perfection and featuring views of the green surroundings, no traffic noise and all essential daily supplies available close at hand. The three upper floors of the complex contain 38 privately financed and 16 subsidised freehold apartments (socially responsible land use), the ground floor is occupied by commercial spaces, and an underground garage connects the two sites. The apartments feature full accessibility and variable floor plans suitable for residents of all ages.

PORR is right on track

Oliver Fürstmann, technical regional manager of PORR Building Construction South Region, has this to say about the cooperative effort: “Our employer values workplace safety and transparency in the partnership just as much as adherence to schedules. We are using LEAN construction methods on this project to ensure that we meet the promised completion date in March 2023. Precise cycle planning and regular coordination between all lots enable us to guarantee efficient processes.”

Josef Lampert, commercial branch manager, adds: “We have successfully reached the first milestone with the structural works completed on time. Many thanks to the team for their fantastic efforts.”
