After just over a year of construction, Senior Site Manager Martin Böhnlein is particularly pleased with the first assessment of the site by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: "The entire team was recognized for above-average performance in the areas of quality management, cooperation and schedule adherence. This excellent feedback is not only a recognition of our work to date, but also an important precondition for future contracts. A positive 'CPARS rating' from the client plays a decisive role in the awarding of new construction projects.”

Intelligent project planning is the basis for meeting construction deadlines

The project is meticulously planned to uphold high quality standards and meet contractually agreed lead times, even when clarification or service changes are needed.

In close cooperation with the client, the BBGS and PORR team examine all aspects at an early stage to avoid delays. The basis for smooth project coordination and control is the LEAN management method practiced by PORR and the Primavera P6 project management software. This feature enables seamless data exchange with the client, ensuring maximum transparency at all times.

Environmental protection and efficient resource use are prioritized as the major project aims for ambitious sustainability goals, including LEED Silver certification. Innovative soil management techniques enable the reuse of soil material by incorporating a lime-cement mix. In addition, excess concrete will be recycled into bollards instead of being disposed of at great expense.
