PORR strengthens infrastructure segnebt with acquisition in transport route engineering

PORR Oevermann GmbH, a subsidiary of PORR, is expanding its core business in transport route engineering with the acquisition of shares in G-S Straßenbau GmbH, based in Dülmen (NRW). All employees, the modern machinery and the business premises and areas in Dülmen will be taken over as part of the transaction. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

G-S Straßenbau GmbH, founded in 2001, operates successfully with an experienced team of around 65 employees and its own machinery. It is active throughout Germany for public and private clients in the field of asphalt rehabilitation and new construction. In addition to handling its own major projects on federal motorways and trunk roads, G-S Straßenbau GmbH has already worked with PORR Oevermann GmbH in joint ventures in the past. With this takeover, the new shareholder is focusing on continuity. The business orientation of G-S Straßenbau GmbH, which will continue to be managed by co-founder and managing director Christian Zebunke, is to be continued and expanded.

According to Gerald von der Gathen, General Manager of PORR Oevermann GmbH, the acquisition is intended to strengthen the company's expertise in asphalt road construction, as well as its regional presence in NRW and the neighbouring federal states. "The purchase of the company fits perfectly with our existing strategy of reacting flexibly and competently to the requirements of our customers," adds von der Gathen.
