With the new certification, the execution of excavation pits, pile foundations or jet grouting methods are now the focus of the assessment. The new basic certificate covers essential sustainability standards from the DGNB's catalog of requirements and serves as a basis for the certification of future construction sites.
The basic certificate confirms sustainable standard construction processes that are already practiced as standard across all projects in PORR's specialist civil engineering department. These processes no longer need to be individually verified for future DGNB certification. PORR's “Green and Lean” sustainability strategy and the Integrated Management System (IMS) were key cornerstones on the path to certification.
Sustainability as a central building block of the PORR philosophy
“We are proud to be the first specialist civil engineering company to receive this award. This shows that sustainable action as well as ecological and social awareness are firmly anchored in our corporate strategy,” emphasizes Christian Rinke, Technical Managing Director of PORR Spezialtiefbau GmbH. “The DGNB certificate offers our customers advantages in terms of subsequent building certification. We support clients in consulting and planning as well as in the implementation of environmentally friendly processes through to final certification. This means that PORR also offers all services relating to sustainability from a single source.”
DGNB pre-certificate “Sustainable construction site - foundation engineering” for Straubing port pilot project
In 2023, PORR Spezialtiefbau received the “Sustainable Construction Site - Specialist Civil Engineering” pre-certificate for the pilot construction site at the port of Straubing. The construction site impressed with its outstanding performance in the areas of construction site organization, resource conservation, health & social issues and quality of construction work. In addition, a construction site in Munich is currently being certified according to DGNB criteria using micropiles and jet grouting.
Pioneering work for a more sustainable future
With the company award “Sustainable Construction Site Specialist Civil Engineering”, PORR is not only underlining its pioneering role in the industry, but also its commitment to actively shaping the path to a more sustainable construction future. The development and implementation of innovative concepts to conserve resources and reduce emissions plays a central role in this.
“This certificate is a further incentive for us as a technology leader to be a pioneer in specialist civil engineering and to successfully complete sustainable projects at the highest level and on time in the interests of our customers,” adds Rinke.
