As part of the overall neighbourhood, two sites are earmarked for the construction of the three buildings for HOWOGE. The northern construction site, which covers an area of around 7,200 square metres and is located on Marius-Carpentier-Straße, will be the location for two seven-storey buildings. The top floor of these buildings will be set back to form the top floor. A further six-storey building will be built on the 2,100 square metre site to the south-west, close to Maselakepark.
The new building will accommodate a mix of 1- to 4-room flats. The 229 flats are subsidised housing. The demands placed on the construction project are high: an economically, socially and ecologically sustainable, functional and socially just project was developed, utilising all the possibilities offered by building law, planning and construction. Together with BRH Generalplaner GmbH, the building construction team came up with a convincing design that fulfils the requirements with a creative approach. Contrary to the original specifications, the planned pergola was located on the south side to provide shade for the building. In addition, the formation of a basement was developed as a solution to create design access to the flats and generate areas with a high quality of stay.
All services from a single source
With the service promise ‘Everything from a single source - economically and securely’, HOWOGE receives an all-round carefree package. Joint, economically realised projects from previous years are proof of the trusting and proven partnership with the client. An important milestone was reached with the topping-out ceremony for the building on WA4. Together with representatives of the client and partner companies, the PORR construction site team celebrated the event and hoisted the topping-out crown onto the building.
An urban village in the countryside for Berlin
Traffic-free and nestled between nature and plenty of water, a decelerated residential neighbourhood for young and old has been under construction for some time on the banks of the Havel in Spandau. With restaurants, gardens, communal lounges and adventure kitchens for sociable evenings, the neighbourhood is intended to offer nature-loving people a high-quality centre of life. Sustainability plays a central role in the Havelufer neighbourhood, which is why it has been awarded the Gold Seal by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
