With the ISO certification of the two closely related management systems in the entire organisation, including its subsidiary companies, PORR is sending a clear signal in Germany. While ISO 37001 focuses on the targeted prevention, detection and combating of bribery, the compliance management system in accordance with ISO 37301 creates a framework for compliance with the relevant legal, regulatory and internal requirements. It also covers the prevention and detection of other systematic compliance breaches such as fraud, money laundering or cartel formation.
For PORR to be as successful as it is as one of Germany's leading construction companies, it is essential that all legal requirements and ethical standards are adhered to across the entire company. The management systems provide a structured framework for this and thus strengthen the trust of our business partners in our business activities. Our employees are provided with qualitative arguments in advance of contract awards, as well as for preparing offers, and can also rely on security and continuity,’ said Jan Schwägerl, Commercial Director of PORR GmbH & Co. KGaA.
The technical managing director Claude-Patrick Jeutter adds: ‘Both certifications are part of the third pillar of ESG governance and thereby incorporate the entire management of PORR in the responsibility of protecting the interests of the stakeholders. They are further fundamental building blocks of our integrated management system, which already encompasses the areas of quality, environment and energy, as well as health and occupational safety.’
The certification audit, which lasted several days, was carried out by Austrian Standards plus GmbH. Among other things, the compliance officer for Germany, together with the managing directors, presented the business activities of the parent company PORR GmbH & Co. KGaA, as well as all subsidiary companies, and provided a comprehensive insight into the implementation of the management systems. In detail, the implemented management processes and procedures of the building construction region South, special civil engineering and transport route engineering, as well as the shared service centre were presented. In addition, a construction site inspection was carried out at the BMW Group's premises in Munich.
