The Cospuden quarter in Markkleeberg gets its face

A lot has happened since the start of construction for the new Cospuden quarter in Markkleeberg on the southern edge of Leipzig: the Schmölln branch of PORR Hochbau Region Ost has completed the underground car parks and shells of the first two apartment blocks. A current time-lapse video shows around 4 months of construction progress from the construction pits to the start of the shell of the first building units.

PORR is building a total of four three-storey apartment blocks, two semi-detached houses as well as three apartment blocks with six residential units each in the immediate vicinity of the Cospudener See recreational area. The client is PROPOS Projektentwicklung GmbH, which initiated, planned, developed and realised the project. The sustainable, high-quality flats feature energy-efficient underfloor heating as well as access to a balcony, terrace or garden.

"This is a high-quality condominium complex. It therefore goes without saying that the client can rely on the quality of workmanship as well as cost and schedule certainty from our side," says site manager Anke Dimmer. "We ensure this in project management by using Lean tools, among other things. For example, the expansion work is carried out in a synchronised manner in trades in which recurring work packages are grouped together," adds Dimmer.

In addition to the actual building construction work, environmental concerns play a major role. For example, underground trenches are being constructed on the site in confined spaces to collect and infiltrate rainwater. A small biotope with frogs will be preserved and a bird hotel with various nesting places has also already found its place in the quarter.
