A 3-storey container castle and the first silos have been erected since March at the construction site on Schützenallee next to the B3 in Hanover. A construction project with special dimensions will be implemented here in the next few years. In the course of the renovation, the existing bridge that carries the B3 over Hildesheimer Straße and Schützenallee in the Döhren district will be replaced by a tunnel. For this purpose, ARGE will first construct a 940 m long temporary bridge parallel to the elevated road and then demolish the existing bridge. Subsequently, a 1,100 m long road tunnel with ramp structures will be constructed to pass under Hildesheimer Straße and Schützenallee.
Preparations for special civil engineering
Stump-Franki is currently preparing the special civil engineering works. In total, more than 5 km of bentonite pipes are being laid on the construction site. They transport the bentonite from the silo via a mixing plant to the site, where it is used as a supporting fluid for the planned diaphragm wall work. To save resources, two desanding plants were set up on the construction site. Through their use, the supporting fluid is used several times for the construction of the diaphragm walls. Currently, girder drilling is being carried out, which serves as preparation for the construction of the girder pile wall. The first pile foundation works will start in mid-June; the diaphragm wall works will start at the end of June.
Self-sufficient, energy-efficient construction site
To reduce the ecological footprint of the construction site, an on-site sewage treatment plant was also built. It enables self-sufficient purification of the construction site wastewater, thus eliminating transport routes for wastewater disposal and saving CO2 emissions. In addition, the installation of a photovoltaic system on the container roofs is currently being examined in order to supply the construction site with green electricity. The goal: to put sustainability at the top of the project agenda.
